This is the second serum by Asees Berri I’ve tested and also follows on from the signature hero product Miracle Glow Peel. I have to straight away admit my skin looked a lot more smooth and it gave me a natural glow.

On the other hand, serums actually have a fair amount of evidence, backed by trials, showing that they work, especially when they contain either Vitamin C or Hyalyronic Acid.

How Can You Naturally Boost Hyaluronic Acid?

While I always strongly push the use of a serum, this is still a supplement and you must try to naturally push an increase in hyaluronic acid production through your diet.

A bone broth is the ultimate golden source of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, while it’s also great in the winter months, however this isn’t an option for vegetarians or vegans. For those on a plant based diet, they might want to consider soy based foods, such as tofu.

Citrus fruits such as lemons and limes are also great sources, as is spinach, carrots and onions. Get plenty of all these and you will be going in the right direction.

How Do I Use This Product?

Remember that more doesn’t mean better, you only need a single pump to cover your face sufficiently. Ideally, you should use this morning and night after cleansing. I used it in the morning after my shower, then in the evening after using an oil based cleanser.

Remember to follow up using this serum with a moisturiser, to lock all that moisture in.

Won’t Acid Burn The Skin?

When I’ve spoken to people about HA, this has actually been one of the most common questions, so I wanted to clear this up. While you do find a number of ‘acids’ in exfoliating peels, such as salicylic acid, this is very much the opposite.

OK, technically in its true form it is an acid, but when you find it in products it is a powerful humectant, meaning it helps to retain and preserve moisture in the skin. It’s a water holding sugar molecule which can trap collagen in the skin. Think of it as a hydrator, too big to sink into the skin, therefore creating a protective film that makes the skin look smoother and plumper.
