Summer might have taken its time coming around, but we’re finally seeing some sun. That does however mean we need to pack away those thick winter jackets and dig out the shorts. Or if yours are looking a bit outdated, maybe it’s time to do some summer shopping!
Fortunately, Cotton Traders have a range of new items in their collection, while there are two items I have opted for which I wanted to share.
Terry Towelling Shorts
Summer means cosy shorts, whether heading into the office, meeting up with friends or relaxing in the garden.
Cotton Traders offer these in three different colours, being navy blue, pink coral or the pictured cappuccino, which was my favourite.
Don’t get me wrong, I love navy blue, but I already have a few shorts in that shade, but I loved how unique these cappuccino shorts looked.
They’re also incredibly reasonable at £20, while they come in sizes from small to 3XL.
The fit is really cosy, easily stretchable, so they will also be useful in the winter when I’m on the exercise bike.
The terry towelling fabric means it will dry quickly, ideal if you’ve quickly put it in the wash, as well as if the rain clouds float over. It’s also a very breathable material, allowing a nice breeze to float through and keep you cool.
Of course, the terry towelling also means it is relatively thick and cosy which I like! It also provides a lot of ‘stretchiness’, which is great if you plan on doing some sports.
These fit like a glove for me, while if you bought the slightly wrong size, the elasticated waist and adjustable drawcord mean you can make it fit your size quite easily.
Harrogate Cotton Linen Blazer
It might be summer, but you still need something slick for when the clouds come or sat in the beer garden as day turns to night.
This linen blazer is available in midnight blue (with white square stripes) or pale camel, as seen in the image.
Offering a traditional look, this single breasted jacket is classy and has two very slick matt-finish buttons.
Linen is a fast drying material, ideal if you do get caught out in the rain, while its moisture wicking properties can help the armpit area in case it gets a bit stuffy.
I also find linen doesn’t really cling to the body too much, meaning it feels cosy despite looking professional.
Ideal for air circulation, linen fabric is a popular option for smart summer wear, hence why this is a perfect option. It’s also surprisingly lightweight to carry around in case you do get too warm to wear it.
