Why do we love check shirts? They can look really smart or beautifully casual. They can be delicately feminine, or boast industrial chic. They’re unbelievably comfortable without compromising on style. Check shirts are amazingly versatile and I adore them. So I thought i’d bring you 5 of my current favourite high-street designs – all on sale! Don’t miss!
LOVE this design. With woven fabric and a classic point collar, this shirt is gorgeously laid-back and easy to throw on with a pair of ripped jeans. In cooler weather, i’d pair with a chunky knit scarf.
I have a soft spot for violet at the moment. The ensemble of girly colours in this check design adds heaps of femininity.
This beautiful boyfriend shirt looks amazing undone over a brightly coloured top, or underneath a fluffy fur vest. It demonstrates a curved hemline and casual sleeves – perfect for wearing with dark-blue jeans and chunky ankle boots. ASOS do a lot of check designs, but I think this is one of their best classic pieces.
This has got to be the best bargain i’ve come across this month! This stunning Abercrombie & Fitch shirt displays a beautifully classic fit and a unique style around the two front pockets. I love the asymmetrical design and delicate lines, and i’m pretty sure this top would go with absolutely anything! Dressed up for work with a formal skirt and bright blazer, or dressed down with a pair of skinny jeans and boots – this is perfect if you’re looking for a staple piece for your wardrobe.
I have a bit of an obsession with the blue and yellow colour scheme. Half of my house interior matches these colours! And they look fabulous on this Dorothy Perkins ruffle shirt. One for petite ladies searching for beautiful work-wear, this shirt will look great with a black leather jacket and high waisted trousers. Add a brightly-coloured belt to accessorise.
If you’re looking for a bit of flair, this check shirt provides just enough! I love this delicious colour scheme as much as the price. I’d pair this top with some leather-look leggings and wedges for a casual but eye-catching style. If you’re looking for a more toned-down look, a hip-length grey cardigan over the top would work well. The bold colours in this Topshop piece make it as versatile as they come – you even undo the first couple of buttons and add a couple of chunky necklaces.
