It’s not until I got a bit older did I truly appreciate what goes into parenting. The sacrifice to buy your children whatever they need and hold off buying things for yourself, the forced watching of the same movie on repeat, the trips to birthday parties every weekend and the forced chats with other parents. It all sounds exhausting, but it also makes me reflect and realise how much they both put in.
If you feel equally grateful, then I’m hoping some of the gifts below might inspire you for a special Father’s day present.
Cobra Leaf Blower
Have you seen your dad plodding around the garden picking up leaves with his gloved hands and throwing them into a black bag or a gardening bin? If so, a leaf blower might be the ultimate gift you could ever get him. I remember when we first got one, with an overgrown garden next door, it was a lifesaver!
You can blow all the leaves into a corner and suction them up with a simple flick on the machine. Not just that, the Cobra leaf blower is completely cordless, so you can easily walk around the garden without having to look back and making sure you’re not getting tangled.
Plus if you do forget to charge it for a while, it has quick charging technology, meaning a short time plugged in gives a powerful return. For those garden proud dads, this is the perfect gadget to bring a smile to his face.
ScratchDefense Extreme Non-Stick Induction Frying Pan
Have a quick look in your dads kitchen and check on the state of the pans, this is something they might not think of asking for, but when they next go to cook and they don’t have eggs stuck to the bottom of the pan, they’ll be eternally grateful!
Available in 3 different sizes, but I’m adament 30cm is the only way to go, if they cook big meals like me. It has a PFOA safe non-stick surface, while it has been engineered to last 130 times longer than the competition.
Plus, important for me, it’s dishwasher safe, so no washing up at the end. The pan has a stainless steel base for heat retention, along with an aluminium core and a graphite pewter finish.
Next Generation Sonic Toothbrush & Whitening Toothpaste
Almost every Christmas I buy my mum and siblings toothbrush heads, as they’re normally quite a pricey item therefore it’s always appreciated as a gift, but only recently I noticed how weathered all my families toothbrushes were, I honestly think it’s time for an upgrade!
The problem is people are slow to change their toothbrushes and the technology has advanced so much over the past few years. The Icy Bear Sonic Whitening Toothbrush has fingerprint recognition (yes, you read that right), while you can save your preferred cleaning modes for a customised experience.
You’ll get a solid 45 days battery life from a single charge and it has fast-charge technology so you don’t have to leave it plugged in for long if you’ve forgotten to give it a boost. The toothbrush also has smart pressure sensors, something really critical as many of us brush too hard, which can cause damage.
Peter Alexander Chic Satin Set
Available in sizes from XXS to XXXL, Peter Alexander have a range of nightwear, including the navy self stripe set in the pic above.
Made from 96% polyester means it fits cosily and without any creases, with the cute dog emblem over the pocket. The nightwear set is served in a matching gift box, meaning you don’t have to wrap anything up.
The pyjamas have a white satin piping and come with deep side pockets, which you sometimes don’t get with pyjama trousers/shorts (frustratingly). Plus the added elastane gives a little extra stretch, in case your dad has had a hefty meal to celebrate father’s day.
Edifier W820NB Plus Headphones
It’s hard to remember a time before wireless headphones, when cables would constantly get caught and you couldn’t move far away or be cooking food at the same time, but I have noticed some of the older generation have been a bit slower to adjust to wireless. This could therefore be a great opportunity to show your dad how much better it can be.
These wireless noise cancellation over-ear headphones can provide up to 49 hours of continuous playback, so the battery life is phenomenal. Plus a 10 minute charge will regain 7 hours of usage! That is some seriously quick charging.
The Edifier W820NB headphones can also identify environmental noices, to pick up vocals and block out other sounds. The noise cancellation technology is also incredible, ideal if your dad is commuting regularly.
OOFOS Essentials Plus Footwear
I hate when you get a flimsy sandal or flip flop, where you feel every touch to the ground. Well OOFOS have tackled this issue, with their revolutionary OOFOAM technology helping to absorb 37% more impact than traditional footwear!
The shape of their essentials plus footwear also helps to cradle your arches, which often take a lot of the brunt when walking. If you’ve noticed your dad walking around in worn out footwear, it might be time to give him an upgrade!
This thickness makes it like walking on a cushion, which is especially appreciated after a long hike or a good workout session. Oh, plus they’re completely washing machine washable, so you don’t have to worry about them falling apart if you do decide to give them a quick clean.
Final ZE500 Earphones
These are so dinky, they really do get smaller with time, while still keeping the unbelievable technology you now expect. These ASMR earphones are ideal for listening to audiobooks or podcasts, with such a crisp sound. It also synchs with a free app, so you can change the volume or environment settings from your phone easily.
You get 4.5 hours of continuous battery life from the earphones, but then you also have the carry around case which provides a further 18 hours, while it’s even water resistant, so you don’t have to worry about it getting slightly damp if it rains and sitting in your dads pocket.
But even better, it has quick charge technology, meaning after just 10 minutes charging you’ll get a full hour of battery life! Also, if your dad has a wireless charger, this can be placed on it to regain battery life, a nice little addition which not all earphones allow yet.
Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros Dark Rum
Havana always make great rum, that’s something you can guarantee, while the Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros is a truly special one, ideal if your dad appreciates the finer things in life!
I’ve included a link to Ocado where you can buy the Havana rum below, but this is also available from The Whisky Exchange and Master of Malt.
The Cuban rum will provide notes of toasted pecan and wood, while you’ll taste cocoa, coffee and brown spices, finishing with smoky oak and spice. On top of it all, the bottle is also quite stunning, a beautiful gift in itself.
Mamu Men’s Grey Top & Check Bottoms Set
I love how cosy this top is, it’s so soft on the skin and feels nice and lightweight. Also, considering summer is finally popping up, it’s very breathable, which is ideal for keeping your dad cool at night.
This is a two piece set, with check bottoms, made from 60% cotton and 40% polyester, combining to make pyjama trousers that are both comfortable and sturdy.
Plus the pattern is really nice, maybe I’m biased as I love a check shirt, but this is something I would spot straight away. You can also get free shipping and they allow for free returns if it doesn’t quite fit.
Airy Forest Breath Home Reed Diffuser
This award winning home reed diffuser set comes with a glass bottle, a set of 8 premium diffuser reeds and 250ml of fragrance oil.
It’s made in Japan, meaning the quality is absolutely phenomenal, as you’d expect. The aroma perfectly fills the air, created to smell like a hinoki forest, with clary sage, geranium and hinoki. There is something so nice and relaxing about the woody scent being all around you in your house, ideal if you have guests coming over.
Plus you can choose luxury gift wrapping (£9) at the point of order, with a message written by hand and a signature ribbon wrapped around.
Steenbergs BBQ Organic Gift Bag
Firstly, a gift bag or a hamper is always an amazing idea, there is something really exciting about them! Also, if your dad loves a BBQ in the summer then this will bring his cooking to the next level with some great spices for the meat (or veggie if he prefers).
You’ve got an American BBQ seasoning, Cajun, Jamaican Jerk, steak seasoning, Mediterranean herbs, piri piri and a spicy salt blend, so everyone can enjoy their own favourites and he can experiment to find his preference.
On top of this, they also provide an organic extra virgin olive oil, infused with chilli. I’m a big fan of getting a high quality olive oil on a salad for the polyphenols, while having chilli in it will provide a nice kick. The gift bag also includes bamboo skewers, perfect for the BBQ so you can get that meat cooking equally throughout.
Build Your Own Kits
BuildYourOwn have a number of amazing kits to build, from childhood characters to pirate ships or even a pinball machine. But I thought about my dad and his love for the first ever Wallace and Gromit, where they go to the moon in search of cheese, this was a no-brainer.
I grew up with my dad showing me how to paint and glue figurines together, while all my friends who have become dads seem to have naturally floated in this direction, becoming fascinated by crafts. Well this will bring out his inner child as he sets it all together before finding the right place in the house to show it off.
I love that you can have the rocket neatly closed up and at other times you can have it opened up so you can see Wallace and Gromit having fun! I need to get a photo of his face when he opens this!
Takamaka Dark Spriced
While I’d love to offer my dad a trip to Seychelles so he can relax on the beach, this is the next best thing, a gorgeous Seychelles local favourite, with natural vanilla, papaya and warming spices.
Whether drunk straight on the rocks or mixed with coke, I think it’s best to make it for him on the day, so you may have to be his personal bartender. In fact, if you fancy being a real mixologist, you could use this to make a spiced rum punch, just purchase some extra pineapple and orange juice, as well as some grenadine and you’re good to go!
Available from Waitrose, The Whisky Excahnge or Master of Malt, you have a good few options available, but if you pop into Waitrose then you can pick up some mixers as well. As in the pic, you have some great Fever Tree options, including a premium ginger beer or a Madagascan Cola.
Rock Face Refillable Deodorant
The Discovery Deodorant Set comes with a refillable case and three scents, including original (citrusy), power (spicy woody) and refined (zesty cedar).
Natural deodorant is the future, while refillable cases are exploding in popularity, with 100% plastic free refills. They’re also vegan friendly and you can expect approximately 4-6 weeks from a single refill.
If you’re working to a slightly tighter budget, they do have an option to order the case & one deodorant refill.
Sea-Band Nausea Relief
Is your dad a big fan of cruises or sailing trips, but is a bit anxious how he’d deal with those choppy waves? Well these are a nifty gift that could stop him from feeling travel sick without using drugs as a natural alternative.
Each pack comes with one for each arm. This can also be used for flights or car rides if they get motion sickness, while they’re incredibly discreet, so they don’t draw attention to themselves.
They also come in a number of different colours, so if they’re a die-hard fan of a team, you can pick their favourite team colours.
La Chouffe Beer
A good beer in the garden, with the sun beaming down on a nice Sunday, could your dad ask for much else? Well, maybe if you serve it for him after keeping it cool in the fridge.
The La Chouffe Belgian blonde beer has citrusy notes with a spicy finish, quite unique for a beer, while the 8% volume will certainly be a bit stronger than he may be used to, so start him off slowly!
Chouffee have a whole range, from cherry to an IPA, so you can pick the one to suit him and then order a whole crate. They can be found in Tescos, Asda, Waitrose, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Majestic, meaning if you forget to order it in time, you can always pop in-store to get them.
Divine Dark Chocolate Bundle
I’m not sure the reasons why we drift from milk to chocolate to dark chocolate as we age, but I can say I’ve gone through that transition towards dark chocolate recently and finally understand why my mum and dad are obsessed with it!
If your dad equally loves some dark chocolate then Divine is an amazing brand which runs a number of gift sets with multiple flavours, this bundle containing pink Himalayan salt, mint crisp, raspberry, ginger & orange and traditional dark chocolate.
They’re all fair trade and all but the pink Hamalayan salt are 70% (that one is 60%), making them high in cocoa content but not so strong it blows your head off. Plus if you order before midday then they’ll ship them out that day, so no long waits for your father’s day gift.
Benecos Spartan Duo
Let’s just face it, most guys are pretty useless at buying themselves toiletries, hence why the adverts target wifes and relatives, as they’re normally bought for them at Christmas and birthday parties, not to mention father’s day!
Benecos has a range of men’s skincare and hair products, but this one comes packaged up as a duo, containing both a body wash 3-in-1, as well as a face cream.
The face cream has organic aloe vera to soothe the skin and organic shea butter to make it feel soft after application.
