Nature’s Bounty Beautiful Skin Gummies Review

natures bounty gummies

I have been testing out the Nature’s Bounty Beautiful Skin Gummies, for beautiful and healthy skin, complete with added hyaluronic acid. This is also the first of two products I’ll be testing out by Nature’s Bounty.

What’s Included?

The main nutritional ingredients that are included are biotin, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.

There is also glucose syrup, sucrose and dextrose, meaning these will contain a certain amount of carbohydrates and, most specifically, sugar, however I couldn’t find the precise amount per gummy.

How Many Do You Take Per Day?

As an adult, you’re meant to take two gummies each day. Try to have them at the same time as your meal, so that they’re properly absorbed. This is a common mistake people make when consuming vitamin based supplements, failing to eat them alongside their breakfast.

Of course, the exact vitamins you eat will affect when you eat them, as some should be eaten with a meal, some just after and some on an empty stomach, so it’s always worth checking the packaging.

2 gummies will provide you with 150 ug of biotin. If you didn’t know, 150 ug = 0.15mg, so as a basic principle when you see ug, just thinkg 1,000ug is 1mg. Your body requires 2-5mg of biotin per day, so this won’t replace what you require in your daily food intake (nor should it), so make sure to also eat plenty of sweet potatoes, seeds, nuts and eggs. Biotin is included due to its ability to help support healthy skin.

2 gummies will also provide you with 10mg of Vitamin E. This easily surpasses your daily requirement, with men needing 4mg per day and women needing 3mg on average (according to the NHS). The vitamin E is packed full of antioxidants, to help fight off free radicals, the main cause of ageing, while it also helps with cell protection. This matches up with zinc as well.

In the 2 gummies, you will also get 40mg of Vitamin C, which is around about spot on what you need in a day. As you get older, the amount you require slightly increases, but in general 40mg should work perfectly. Vitamin C has shown in numerous studies to be important in the process of collagen production, which is key to keeping elasticity in the skin.

I’m a big fan of zinc, taking a supplement for it each day due to its ability to help support your immune system. Per 2 gummies, you will get 4mg of zinc. Women require around 7mg per day and men require 9.5mg.

You can add some extra zinc into your diet via cheese, so now you have an excuse to eat some extra Double Gloucester!

The final ingredient which they highlight on the back of the pack is the hyaluronic acid, while they provide you with 100mg.

There isn’t an exact amount you need per day, this is an ingredient that is hugely popular in the beauty industry, mainly with topical treatments, however they’re increasingly popular in oral supplements such as this.

According to this reputable study (albeit based on a moisturiser with hyaluronic acid), a dosage of 120-140mg per day actually managed to significantly increase the moisture in the skin, inevitably reducing dry skin.

One added point is that hyaluronic acid supplements are also supposed to help with joint pain, which can be a nice added benefit.

How Many Do You Get In A Pack?

The pack provides you with 60 gummies, so if you follow the guidelines and have two per day then you will have 30 days worth, nicely working out as a month. Of course, if you’re on a tighter budget, you could just have 1 per day to make it stretch a little longer.

How Do They Taste?

These are all raspberry flavoured and I’m happy to say they taste great. This makes taking your morning supplements or vitamins a little bit more fun than having to swallow a massive capsule with water!

Are These Vegan Friendly?

Yes they are! Despite being a jelly based supplement, they use pectin instead of gelatine, a popular vegan friendly plant based gelling agent. These are also gluten free.

Where Can I Buy Them From?

You can purchase the Nature’s Bounty Beautiful Skin Gummies from their website, or alternatively from Boots.
