30th Birthday Gift Guide

Who remembers when Rachel in Friends turned 30 and Joey screams out “why god, why, we had a deal”? Funny to think I was probably 15 at the time and 30 seemed some imaginary old age that would never come, but alas it came and went (almost a decade ago).

Buying for a 30 year old isn’t always the easiest, do you get them alcohol or are they going booze free? Something fashion based, or maybe they’re on a health kick nowadays and vitamins and supplements are more their thing. I’ve looked at every angle for inspiration and listed my top recommendations for you below.

Paulmann Solar Marisol Motion Sensor

Marisol Motion sensor

There are so many ways to make a garden look glamorous while also adding some light, ideal if you host in the evening or you just simply want your garden to look nice.

If the 30 year old is a home owner then they’ll suddenly be very ‘house proud’, therefore lighting for their garden could be ideal. In fact, if they’re renting, there is also a high chance they’ve become very house proud, as it really does kick-in around this age.

The Paulmann bollard lights have a motion detector, so they’re only lit up when needed. It provides a warm white light, utilising solar energy, so you don’t have to spend a penny once it’s setup. As long as the sun is lined up to shine on the LED light, then you should get 8-10 hours of light from 6-8 hours of sunlight.

Edifier W830NB Headphones

edifier w830nbI remember when I used to have to charge my headphones each day, how times have changed. The Edifier W830NB has 94 hours battery, so you should be able to make it a good week of playing music before you need a charge.

The sound is crystal clear, with active noise cancellation so you can be completely submerged in your music without distractions. The earpads are also really soft, ideal if you plan on keeping them on for extended periods of time. They’re also easily foldable, ideal if you’re taking them to work or on holiday.

Airy Fragrances Home Reed Diffuser

Home Reed DiffuserIf that special person has visitors round, then they may want to welcome them with a beautiful scent as they walk through the door. But I’m never keen on the plug-ins, which use electricity, smell very artificial and don’t create a more natural feel. Candles are dangerous with an open flame and you have to keep lighting them when you need them on, then blowing them out when you’re done so as to avoid a fire risk.

In contrast, a reed diffuser is low maintenance, it looks stunning and it lasts an impressive amount of time. Inside the box you’ll find the Airy Fragrances glass bottle, a 180ml bottle of fragrance oil and 5 premium diffuser reeds, this is a complete set to make the house smell incredible.

Nourished AI Driven Personalised Vitamins

nourished vitamins

This is the future of health. Forget generic multivitamins, it’s about working out what you specifically need and getting customised vitamins based on your personal requirements. Nourished have introduced gummies, where you answer a survey about your health and lifestyle and it will recommend inclusions, while you can also highlight ones you personally want, to make up your multi-layered gummy.

As you can see above, I’m after milk thistle to help my liver from drinking on weekends, Vitamin D3 as we’re naturally low in this in the UK, zinc to boost my immune system and beetroot to increase nitrates (plus I don’t eat it naturally). The other vitamins and minerals were based on recommendations around my choices.

Mayfair Beard Oil

mayfair beard oilFor anyone who has grown a beard beyond the basic level of stubble, they’ll know how itchy and dry it gets if you don’t apply something after washing. The issue with a moisturiser is the cream gets stuck in the beard, while if it contains SPF then your beard changes colour slightly, so a beard oil is the ultimate solution.

Containing jojoba, argan, avocado and sweet almond essential oils, this is perfect for soothing and hydrating the skin, softening the hair and creating a nice scent.

iWalk Mag-X Portable Charger

mag-x portable chargerForget plugging in a giant portable charger and having a long cable sneaking out of your pocket, the Mag-X attaches to the back of your phone, so whenever it’s running low, you can flick it on.

When I say light, it really is, weighing 0.1kg, so you won’t notice a difference with it on. It’s also incredibly slim, so it will still fit in your pocket with ease. It’s 5,000mAh, which should give a full recharge of your phone. There is also an LED display highlighting the battery you have left on your phone.

Savoia Orancio

savoia spritz

I went to Italy this summer and was introduced to a spritz. I’ve always loved prosecco, but the concept of combining it with a liquer and lemonade was very new to me. I found quickly that I preferred the slightly sweeter options, which is where the orange flavour of Savoia Orancio worked perfectly.

Of course, if they prefer a slightly more bitter ‘amaro’ style taste, there is also the Savoia Rosso. If you really want to impress them, you could buy all the ingredients, meaning combine this with some prosecco and lemonade and then make it up for them on the day as their personal bartender.

Sierra Lime & Strawberry Margarita Cans

Sierra Lime & Strawberry Margarita CansHeading to Brighton on the train for drinks with friends or family, me and Raquel always love bringing a cheeky tipple for the journey, while the RTD canned drinks really are improving nowadays with some amazing options available.

This is the first time I’ve seen a margarita drink in a can, while it’s by the globally loved Sierra brand, known for their tequila. They have lime and strawberry flavoured margaritas, ideal for a BBQ, a journey into town or at a party. Plus, whoever you buy it for may feel generous and drink some with you on the day, if you’re lucky.

Tolpa Max Effect 4-Molecule Serum

tolpa 4 molecule serum

Turning 30, you have to start taking your skincare routine a bit more seriously. You can’t rely on nature helping you out anymore like in your 20’s. 30 was around the age I started using a serum for the first time.

Firstly, it can be hard to know which one to pick when so many different ingredients are highlighted. Secondly, you don’t always get a high enough percentage, especially if the serum is surprisingly cheap or they refuse to state the quantities on the packaging. Tolpa openly state the 8% glycolic acid, as well as the 1% phytic acid you’ll find in this amazing serum, packing a powerful anti-ageing punch.

divine bundle raspberryDid you know that dark chocolate is packed full of flavonoids and polyphenols, which are crucial antioxidants, as well as containing iron, magnesium, manganese and copper. Ok, I’m saying this all so you don’t have to feel guilty about stealing a bar for yourself when you buy a bundle for that special person.

With 70% cocoa in each bar, this is a premium level grade of chocolate and it tastes amazing, especially the smooth dark chocolate with raspberries which is a must for me. Divine has a great selection to pick from, so you can customise to match your pals personal tastes.
