A Great Bottle Of Wine
Whether it’s a bottle of red, white, sparkling or rose, your dad should be absolutely delighted, I know mine would be! But where do you start, as you want something he doesn’t get in his weekly shop, you want a great tasting unique option he might not have tried before.

My final recommendation is for the white wine drinking dad, which would be the Calvet Réserve Sauvignon Blanc, the lowest priced at £10, available from Waitrose, which pairs perfectly with smoked salmon or grilled fish.
Smokehead Whisky
I’m yet to find a single dad that doesn’t like whisky, maybe it’s something that happens with age, like how we all started liking olives and country walks the moment we hit our 30’s.
The Smokehead original comes in an amazing case to protect it, but also which makes it really stand out. With notes of sea salt and spice, as well as a honeyed sweetness, plus the inevitable woodsmoke and peat, this is a beautiful whisky that I would love to give and share with my dad.

Sansho Spiced Rum
Available from The Wasabi Company, a family run business specialising in fine Japanese ingredients with farms in Dorset and Hampshire, this is an English rum with Japanese flavours.
You can expect smoky soy, ume plum and an oaky taste. But as the name suggests, this also includes Sansho berries, which provide a peppery and citrusy taste, very unique to any rum I’ve ever tried before.

I do love a gin, as does my dad, while the growth of the gin industry in the UK has meant that there are so many more options to try compared to a decade ago.

Is there any nicer feeling than a clean new duvet? Well this is a double gift, as really once he’s opened it up, you should offer to change the duvet for your dad.
Available as a double for £32.14, you could also order as a king size. The fleece duvet means it’s both soft and warm, ideal for when the temperature starts to drop in a few months.
There are a number of amazing designs on Terrys Fabrics, but this one is a recommendation as it looks elegant, sophisticated and feels so cosy. The dogs were very happy volunteers to pose.
Nirvana Brewery 0% Beer Discovery Case
The growth of zero alcohol drinks is significant, with so many people I know looking for the feeling of having a pint without the headache or fatigue the next day. The issue initially was that, other than a few mainstream beers, there weren’t too many great options.
But Nirvana Brewery have worked wonders with their range, allowing you to tick off your type of drink, whether it’s an IPA, pilsner, stout or lager. The case means your dad can experiment and see which one he prefers the most, then he can buy the individual cases of those ones down the line.

Utilising ethically sourced ingredients from Columbia, these chocolate bars are a lot thicker than the kind you get down your local shop. You can get an individual bar for £7.25, but the four pack is £27 and is held together nicely so you can easily wrap them up.
The flavours are also a lot more unique than you tend to get. Home Run contains salted pretzel, whole almond & honeycomb, is anyone else’s mouth drooling? King’s Ransom is more my sister and mums taste, being mint, pistachio & cocoa nibs. Nan’s Stash has peanut, toffee & digestive biscuit.
But I had to save my favourite to last, the one that I would bulk buy, Sweet Tart, which is cherry, almond & shortbread, which almost reminds me of a black forest gateau, my favourite cake in the world.

The Lacura Island Oasis is meant to mimic Huge Boss, with notes of sea salt, coconut and lemon. Lacura Ambition is like Givenchy Gentleman, with cardamom, sage and Madagascan Vetiver. The third is Lacura Iconic Man, which resembles Burberry Hero, with notes of pine, Olibanum, Benzoin, and Incense.
