Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2020

We all need a bit of cheering up with all the negative news at the moment and there should be no excuse not to show your mum how much you appreciate her by buying lots of gifts! But soon as Mother’s Day comes around, it can always be a head scratcher what to buy, so I’ve listed some of the best options available for 2020.

Diplomatico Rum and Chocolate Tasting Experience

rum-n-chocDiplomático Reserva Exclusiva rum has partnered with British chocolatier Paul A. Young and created a truly tasty rum and chocolate tasting set. It contains a full bottle of Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva alongside a box of chocolate created specially to match the elegant and complex notes of the rum. Paul A. Young chose a 72% Single origin dark chocolate, Venezuelan with intense flavours of roasted cocoa beans and a rich and delicate sweetness. The addition of essential oil of orange and mandarin adds a delicate fruity flavour with enough room for the complexities of the rum to shine through. Plus I love the way it looks when you open the box!

Aloe Bio-Cellulose Masks

face-maskEver since trialling the 10 Step Korean Skincare Routine a year ago, I’ve been addicted to using masks, seeing them as a relaxing part of the evening, while helping to moisturise the skin and fight off any fine lines and wrinkles. These are a great gift and recently were featured at the Pure Beauty Awards in London. You get 5 in a pack, so you might be able to sneak one for yourself!

Olverum Bath Oil

bath-oilMade with natural essential oils, this is another great option for any mums that like a bit of ‘me time’. You just need to add a couple of drops into your bath and they will get to work, easing out any tension and stress from the day, while providing a nice, subtle scent. This product is also vegan friendly, something increasingly important to consider.

Infinite Firming Serum

serumThe sixth step in the 10 step Korean skincare routine, I’m increasingly understanding the importance of serum in your daily anti-ageing routine. It contains a three amino acid peptide which is clinically proven to increase firmness in the skin, helping to fight off fine lines and wrinkles. My mum has actually been blessed with very good skin, so she still doesn’t have any wrinkles (don’t think I got her genes), but I know she would love this!

Green & Black’s Organic Classic Miniature Bar Collection

chocolate-giftIt might be incredibly hard to hand these over as you look hungrily through the transparent front at the various options, including milk chocolate with butter scotch, dark chocolate with hazelnut and currant and plenty more. They’re 15 grams each, so you won’t feel guilty as you tuck into an entire bar in one go, well, maybe slightly guilty.

Green & Black’s White, Milk & Dark Chocolate Miniature Bars

green-and-blacksIf those flavours didn’t quite appeal to you then you should know that they have various options available, with this pack offering the gorgeous white chocolate flavour. They both contain ginger, so I know my mum will be happy to receive these. How can you celebrate Mother’s Day without chocolates?

Personalised Glass Vase

glass-vaseEvery year I get my mum flowers, but I’ve never contemplated what she puts them in. The vase she has is nice, but she’s had it for a long time, therefore I love the idea of getting a personalised glass vase alongside the flowers, with a message to express my gratitude for everything she has done over the years.

Forever My Friend Mug

always-my-mum

I really love the messaging on this mug, a sweet way to send your love while enjoying a good cuppa. We’ve been raised coffee addicts, or at least we’ve all someone become addicted to coffee, while pouring copious amounts of cream into our coffee as a naughty treat every Christmas is a great tradition we now have, so seeing her drink from this mug will bring a massive smile on my face.

Mindless Raider Longboard

skateboardNot everyone follows the traditional purchasing patterns, not every mum wants chocolates and flowers, it’s important to consider the personality and what they would genuinely like. Being Brighton based, longboarding is a growing passion for many in the area, while it seems to predominantly be women taking up the sport locally to me. So if you’re mum is a little sporty, why not consider a gift a little bit different to the usual.

Nanogen 7-in-1 Shampoo

shampoo-hairSuitable for minoxidil users, this high-end shampoo works by cleansing, moisturising, strengthening, thickening, rebalancing the scalp, protecting from pollution and optimised for fibres. Plus, most importantly, it smells nice. It also contains green tea extract, which has plenty of antioxidants, helping to fight off free radicals that are the main cause of ageing.

Pineapple & Kiwi Fruit Tea

edible-teaYou’ve got her the Forever My Friend mug, why not get some innovative edible tea. These loose tea infusions are pineapple and kiwi air-dried, however after they’ve mixed with the water and you’ve drunk your tea, you can then eat the fruit, providing one of your five a day. At the low cost of £5, this is a low price option for the list.
